Worthless Trash Update - BOBBY RANGER
OK, I've been telling anyone who'll listen how great this record is, though not many are buying into it. Several copies of Punke Punke have came and went on eBay dirt cheap and seen little or no action in the last couple of years - enter eBay seller vanya_nobrains. 'KBD PUNK' says Vanya, adding 'TOTALLY MANIC STUFF HERE!!!' for good measure. Vanya also included one of her trademark soundclips and that was enough to pull in £23.00. So it's official, Vanya has more influence when it comes to this shit than me. Oh well!

have to admit to liking this quite a bit picked it up on gemm for next to nothing (after hearing it on ebay - I would feel guilty but I spend quite alot with vanya) did you give

which was also in the same batch a listen. This seemed to me to be another take on the riff of "jet boy jet girl" or "ca plane pour moi" or etc..
Got to admit I'm guilty of listening to those soundclips from Vanya and one or two other Dutch/Belgian sellers, then heading off elsewhere to find stuff cheaper. Got lucky with both Johnny Palermo's a couple of years back. More recently while people were bidding up an Italian copy of Stefan's "J'Suis Pas Mechant", I was ordering a German copy from Fun Records for a couple of Euros and adding a Benny Blue "Lady Belle Star" / "Made Cap" for even less.
Didn't catch the Rubberen Robbie but it sounds interesting. The one I'd like without spending too much is De Strangers "Punk" which is another take on "Jet Boy"/"Ca Plane".
There was a bit of a mixed reaction when I put this Bobby Ranger song on the old version of the blog. Even had someone email me to say I'd lost the plot and it was the worst thing he'd ever heard. It'll be interesting to see what the next copy on eBay goes for.
Have you heard Vanja's own band, The Nazis From Mars? They are/were really good! Still haven't quite made the one KILLER record but I live in hope.

I have to admit to prefering the german version of ca plan "bin wieder frei" by Benny
I find the de strangers a bit annoying towards the end (the joke runs flat) - if you want an mp3 of it I can send it
