If you ask me nothing touches the sublime punk 'n' roll swagger of Saturday Night by Johnny Palermo. By rights it shouldn't really be anywhere near a 'Killed By Death' comp. Penned by muso songwriters Robert and Rene Vlaeyen and actually a top 20 hit in the Belgian charts. Pretty much breaks all the rules really.
Lots of these around obviously and long thought by me to be only released in Belgium, but then this turns up...
So it actually made it across the border to Holland courtesy of the ever optimistic people at CNR Records. A nice 'alt' picture sleeve too. So what did CNR do with them all? Must have filed it away in the 'let's not bother with this after all' pile next to the Rollerball. Sold for around £70 on eBay last week (more than 3 times your average Belgian pressing).
